About us
The family paint business was established in Manhattan NYC after 1917 by Founder Ben T. and later son Sherwin T. Metro Automotive with a store on W 53rd and 10th Ave. Manhattan NY. next Cousin Larry Mobile opened his first Paint Store selling Ditzler-PPG Products in Daytona Beach Florida 1984. Larry's first warehouse 1988 Brooklyn Auto Paint & Body Supply, opened in Brooklyn NY selling R-M Alpha-Cryl Lacquer becoming #1 in sales and next introduced the BASF Diamont Urethane to Brooklyn NY in 1989. Matrix System Founder Kent Gardener authorized the opening of A1PAINTCO as the first MATRIX SYSTEM Distributor for Fort Lauderdale Florida 2001 to present distribution.
